Virginia's Futures Forums
As part of its ongoing commitment to long-term goals and the exploration of high-priority issues, the Council on Virginia’s Future has held various forums to discuss some of the important questions facing Virginia. Thought leaders from government, business and the community will come together to discuss and help clarify ways we might enhance the Commonwealth’s quality of life. These Futures Forums complement the Council’s signature initiative, Virginia Performs, which tracks the state’s progress in reaching its long-term goals.
Governor's Commission on Government Reform and Restructuring
One of the Council's key missions is to assess and improve government performance, making it a natural partner in Governor McDonnell's efforts to do same. The Governor's Commission on Government Reform and Restructuring has taken an extensive look at state government operations in order to "make government simpler and easier to use, more efficient and more effective."
Assessing Customer Satisfaction with Virginia Government Services
The Customer Service, Performance, Accountability and Transparency Committee of the Commission was charged with exploring concrete ways the Commonwealth might improve its services to citizens. A Futures Forum, Assessing Customer Satisfaction with Virginia Government Services, was developed to help facilitate that process. Representatives from the public and private sectors addressed best practices for gauging and improving customer satisfaction.
